Jessica Johnson, Director

Before founding Rooted in Discovery, Jessica shared her love of learning by tutoring elementary students, teaching ballroom dance and as a ski instructor. She has poured her heart into designing creative, evidence‑based curricula for multi‑age homeschoolers.

As a homeschooling parent of two children, Jessica understands the real needs of real families. She focuses on learning experiences that honor children’s natural curiosity, while supporting diverse learning styles and building confidence through discussion, experimentation, and level-appropriate challenges. Her programs emphasize the kind of hands‑on exploration that helps children build both competence and character.

Jessica is known for her clear, step‑by‑step guidance, her playful approach to education, and her ability to transform big ideas into organized, sustainable systems. Whether she’s developing a full‑year curriculum, leading a co‑op workshop, or helping a struggling child, she brings warmth, creativity, and a deep respect for each learner’s individuality.

Rooted in Discovery reflects her core belief: children thrive when they are invited to explore boldly, think critically, and discover who they are through meaningful work and wonder-filled learning.
