No. Rooted in Discovery is a secular cooperative focused on inquiry, analysis, and real‑world understanding. We do not provide religious instruction, nor do we present any religious worldview as part of our academic content.

We recognize that history and science can include complex or sensitive topics. We believe conversations about personal beliefs, values, and religious perspectives belong with families, and we encourage parents to guide those discussions at home in ways that align with their traditions.

All materials are available for parents to review before enrolling their children. Our cooperative strives to be inclusive, objective, and respectful when presenting information. We focus on critical thinking, curiosity, and community—creating a space where children can learn confidently and families of all backgrounds feel welcome.

Rooted in Discovery is designed for curious, energetic boys ages 6–12 who thrive on hands‑on exploration, critical thinking, and academically rigorous study. Our programs are differentiated to support multi‑age learning while maintaining academic rigor.

We meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with 66 scheduled classes across the academic year. Each day includes a History class, a snack and movement break, and a Science class.

History follows Curiosity Chronicles: Snapshots of Medieval History, a narrative‑based, multicultural, secular program built on primary sources and historical cause and effect. Science follows R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey: Biology, a hands‑on, lab‑rich curriculum covering the scientific method, cell biology, human body systems, and ecology.

Homework is optional. It may include independent reading, essay prompts, and either a collaborative or independent Minecraft Final Project. These may be submitted for feedback and grading if desired, or completed simply as an academic exercise to add depth of knowledge and solidify understanding.

That is up to you. Families may request letter grades, narrative feedback only, or no grades or feedback at all. Feedback is based on written work in class, discussion participation, projects, and any optional homework completed and turned in.

Each student brings a three‑ring binder, two tab dividers for History and Science, loose‑leaf paper or notebooks, a folder for take‑home papers, and a pencil pouch with pencils, erasers, markers, colored pencils, crayons, a highlighter, a glue stick, and scissors. A microscope is also required — you do not need to spend a fortune. Any student monocular or binocular microscope will work, but please do not buy a toy microscope.

Tuition is $1,650 for the year, or $1,485 when paid in full by August 1 — a 10% discount applied automatically. Monthly tuition is $165, due on the 1st of each month from August through May. We accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle.
